Creating a custom piece of jewelry is one of the most satisfying aspects of being a jewelry designer. Listening to what people want is such an important part of the process. And often, the project is very personal. Sarah’s parents wish to celebrate their daughter’s accomplishments with a responsibly sourced jewelry piece that will represent to their daughter a global perspective of the importance of respecting nature and the welfare of all individuals.

Although I initially thought about creating a cuff bracelet, earrings, or a pendant, I wanted to create something stronger and more substantial. I settled on a wide-link necklace with a timeless design. In thinking about the piece, I felt it was important to honor her parents by incorporating all the stones that they had selected.
