MJSA Expo Sets New Dates for Fall 2020

MJSA Expo, the longest-running trade show dedicated to jewelry making and design, has secured new dates for its 2020 show, which was postponed in early March due to concerns about the spread of COVID-19 in New York City.  The Expo will now run Sunday and Monday, Oct. 25-26, and will once again occupy Hall D in the Javits Center, co-locating with the JA New York Fall retail show.

MJSA Expo 2020 Seminars Announced

MJSA Expo, the longest-running trade show dedicated to professional jewelry making and design, has announced the seminar schedule for its 2020 show, which will run March 15-17 at the Javits Center in New York City (concurrently with JA New York).

Rio Grande’s Alan Bell Awarded MJSA Lifetime Achievement Award

Alan Bell came on board as Rio Grande’s seventh employee in January 1971, when he was 20 years old. His father, Saul, had founded the jewelry supply store in downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1944, and it had developed into a true family affair: Alan’s brothers Hugh and Eddie were already working there. When they asked their younger brother if he could “hang out and help”—business was booming, thanks to the then-current craze for Southwest-style jewelry—Alan said sure.

MJSA Re-elects Chair, Adds Five New Directors

MJSA’s At the Bench Live Returns to AGTA GemFair Tucson

MJSA will again present its popular At the Bench Live series of hands-on demos at the 2020 AGTA GemFair Tucson. The sessions will run twice daily Feb. 6–8 as part of GemFair’s seminar program, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3:30 to 5 p.m.

MJSA Launches ConFab Chicaco

October 2019—MJSA plans to launch a new day-long seminar program, MJSA ConFab Chicago, in conjunction with the Chicago Responsible Jewelry Conference. The ConFab will take place Oct. 24 in the Jewelers Center at the Mallers Building. It will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. alongside the 2019 Responsible Gem Boutique, which features the leading suppliers of ethically sourced gems.
