Rio Grande – Soldering Clay

This fast-setting, water-soluble soldering clay was developed to help streamline jewelers’ soldering processes. Ideal for precise positioning, it reflects heat, expands during set up, and provides a stable soldering surface. Users can shape parts in soft wax or water-based clay, mix the investment with water, and apply. Once set, users can remove the backing material and solder directly onto the exposed areas without shifting components. After soldering, the clay breaks away by hand or quenches off cleanly. Suitable for assembling complex pieces, the clay is nonoxidizing and is available in a 1 lb. size.
