Like most jewelers, I love tools. While there are many tools on the market, most are based on tried-and-true designs. But my favorite tools come from artists who are trying to make their lives better and easier. Often, there’s a technique they want to use in their work but find that the tools for it are difficult and cumbersome to use or don’t exist yet. Instead, these artists figure out a way to make something that works better. Such is the case of Dennis Coren, a jewelry artist, teacher, and inventor.
