Annual design challenge raises money to benefit Navajo Nation

For jewelers, there are probably few things as nice as completing a piece of jewelry and knowing that it will be loved and worn by someone. The only thing better: knowing that the piece will also do a little good in the world.

Every year, in MJSA’s Responsible Design Challenge, we challenge a group of designers to render a piece of custom jewelry based on a fictional scenario (which appears in the January issue of MJSA Journal). There are only two stipulations: each entry must meet a certain price point, and it must incorporate a selection of gemstones provided by Columbia Gem House, a renowned U.S. supplier of responsibly sourced colored gemstones in Vancouver, Washington.
