Umicore Galvanotechnik – Platuna Alloy RU

This strongly acidic alloy electrolyte is designed to deposit smooth, shiny, and crack-free platinum-ruthenium coatings up to a layer thickness of 0.5 micron. Offering cost savings over other platinum plating solutions due to the use of ruthenium, the solution has a low sulfuric acid content and is less aggressive to the coating substrate. The deposition rate is independent of the current density, leading to an optimum layer thickness distribution. No precipitation occurs, and the platinum concentrate does not have to be stored in the refrigerator.
