I always keep a decent supply of wooden dowels, chopsticks, and skewers on hand and in as many diameters as I can find. I hunt for them in hardware stores, craft stores, and woodworking suppliers, and it’s amazing how many times a little piece of wood can save time, trouble, and thumbs in a busy shop.
