Create your own polishing points for fine detail work
By Helen I. Driggs
I use 3M polishing papers constantly in my shop and appreciate both the range of abrasives and the quality of finish they produce. In addition to hand polishing, I often cut them into strips for use in my jeweler’s saw frame or roll them into a split mandrel for use with my flex-shaft. But when a split mandrel is too bulky for fine detail work, here’s another method I use to create polishing paper points that reach tight spaces.
