The following experts presented at the 2024 MJSA ConFAB in New York City.

Nanz Aalund is an award-winning author, consultant, designer, goldsmith, and educator who is passionate about helping others reach their professional potential. Her books include A Jeweler's Guide to Apprenticeships (MJSA Press), and for the MJSA Mentor & Apprenticeship Program she developed a curriculum that was approved by the U.S. Dept. of Labor's Apprenticeship Office as a national standard. Early in her career, she was designer and production director for Nordstrom Fine Jewelry.

Matthew Anderson is director of human resources at Albuquerque, New Mexico–based Rio Grande. During his 25 years at Rio, he’s worked in various capacities—before his current position, he served as a coach, lean practitioner, and manufacturing specialist—and he continues to balance a focus on people with meeting business goals. He earned the Senior Certified Professional designation from the Society for Human Resource Management in 2022.

Glenn Block is a CPA and managing senior partner in the accounting firm of Block & Aldinger in Allentown, Pennsylvania. A member of the American Institute of CPAs and the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts, he is an expert in forensic accounting and business valuation, and in 2021 received NACVA's "Outstanding Member Award.” He also owns Shardan Jewelry, where he works at the bench creating custom engagement rings

Tim Coggins is an executive vice president and head of commercial banking at BankRI, where he has worked for over two decades. A board member of the Business Development Center of Rhode Island and the International Precious Metals Institute–New England Chapter, he has also served as a volunteer for local and national organizations, including Tockwotton Nursing Home, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, and the Jewelers Board of Trade.

Annie Doresca is the chief financial officer at Jewelers of America (JA) and the co-founder and board president of the Black in Jewelry Coalition. Prior to joining JA in 2008, she served as client manager for BTQ Financial, an outsourcing provider of financial services to nonprofit organizations; manager of advisory services for Nonprofit Finance Fund, which helps nonprofits strengthen their financial health; and an intermediate analyst for Goldman Sachs Co.

Esther Fortunoff-Greene is CEO of Fortunoff Fine Jewelry, an online retailer. Her 30-year career began in her family's chain of stores in the New York Tristate area, overseeing the jewelry business alongside her parents and traveling to diamond-cutting centers around the world. After the chain's sale in 2005 and the exit of the brick-and-mortar stores in 2009, she launched the online business in 2010. She was inducted into the National Jeweler Retailer Hall of Fame in 1998.
