Director, Product Quality Assurance

Tiffany & Co. is seeking a director of product quality assurance to join its team. This role is responsible for providing technical quality leadership for the full lifecycle of products from design and development to manufacturing and final quality assurance.
Required/Recommended Qualifications:
- Strong leadership in team building and development.
- Experience in problem solving and hands-on working knowledge of quality assurance processes and tools, such as root cause analysis.
- Strong knowledge in core engineering concepts such as mechanical analysis, and material science.
- Experience working in partnership with product development, project management teams and designers to provide design quality engineering guidance on new products.
- Deep knowledge on Design for Manufacturability highly desired.
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.
- Design experience with various molding processes and tooling is an asset.
- Working knowledge of computer-aided engineering (CAD), Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and solid modeling is an asset.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Accountable for high standards of quality built-in design.
- Provide technical quality leadership for full lifecycle of product; design, develop, test prototypes, manufacture and quality assurance.
- Work in partnership with product development and product management functional groups to ensure that the design concepts can be manufactured efficiently, and sustainable quality is “designed in”.
- Work with engineering & manufacturing to ensure new product launches are compliant with quality instructions developed by the design quality process.
- Evaluate product’s overall performance, reliability, and compliance before the launch.
- Collaborate with the Product Regulatory and Compliance team to ensure the compliance to applicable regulations.
- Responsible from Product Quality throughout the life cycle of the product after the product launch.
- When a product quality issue occurs, drive root cause analysis and problem-solving by utilizing Quality Management Systems processes, 8D Problem Solving, Lean Six Sigma methodology, and other statistical tools. Follow up the implementation of the correction and verify the effectiveness.
- Utilizing the quality data, identify product improvement solutions, recommend potential modification in design, manufacturing process or test methods to meet requirements and to eliminate product issues proactively.
- Recommend continuous quality improvement projects and global harmonization initiatives.
- Own the product quality metrics and the quality data.
- Provide Leadership, develop, implement and evaluate Product Quality resource (QA and QC) and operational strategies in alignment with the Corporate’s business strategy, the Supply Chain’s business objectives, the Global Quality’s direction, and capacity.
- Maintain clear communication paths with stakeholders and foster affective cross-functional partnership.
