Laser/Bench Jeweler
Midas Chain (Northvale, New Jersey)
A premier jewerly manufacturer, Midas Chain is seeking a laser/bench jeweler responsible for using a jewelry laser to set, assemble, repair and maintain gold merchandise consistent with company quality standards and service.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Must have the ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
- 2+ years experience as a laser technician in jewelry industry or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of jeweler's tools, machinery and equipment required along with advanced jewelry repair knowledge.
- Laser welding experience required.
- Ability to follow directions and communicate well with others.
- Can sit for prolonged periods.
- Ability to read and write in small print, able to handle small jewelry items.
- Adhere to all safety-related procedures to reduce the risk of accidents.
- Perform all repairs to bring damaged jewelry up to the standards.
- Produce high quality jewelry repairs while maintaining an above average production rate and controlling company assets.
- HS degree or above and JA Certified Bench Jeweler (CBJ) a plus.
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Suite.
Required Responsibilities:
- Uses laser to solder chains to personalized & engraved pieces.
- Restores damaged or broken jewelry while maintaining quick turn-around times.
- Repairs broken clasps, rings and other jewelry by soldering or replacing broken parts.
- Adheres to all safety-related procedures to reduce the risk of accidents.
- Uses computer to update production logs.
