Manufacturer James Avery Artisan Jewelry is seeking a technical designer/prototype maker responsible for creating design prototypes for seasonal launches that maintain design’s intent, as well as the James Avery aesthetic, while ensuring the most beautiful execution.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts or related Jewelry-Making, Jewelry-Design, Metals, or Sculpture degree; or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• Five years’ experience in jewelry making, jewelry design, or metal working.
• Must be detail-oriented with a discerning eye.
• Ability to build prototypes on the bench.

Preferred Skills & Knowledge:

• Knowledge of Rhino/Matrix/Zbrush.

Primary Responsibilities:

Contributes to the creation of seasonal launches as follows:
• by producing prototypes for assigned designs in silver, gold, and bronze, with and
without gemstones, that represent the designer’s intent with the very best execution.
• through close collaboration with Director of Design to review prototypes and refine as
needed.
• through collaboration with other Design team members in bringing their ideas to life
and reaching ever-better design solutions.
• by incorporating new methods and/or materials to improve quality, effectiveness, and
efficiency in their projects.
• Knowledge or willingness to learn CAD.
