Companies interested in extending their product lines to include jewelry with embedded electronics will face the challenge of “making jewelry so it’s still high quality and heirloom, but realizing electronics might wear out and become obsolete in a few years,” says Angela McIntyre, research director of Gartner Inc. in Santa Clara, California. “How do you incorporate the electronics and not let the quality suffer?”
