When it comes to custom jewelry, you never know where one simple job request can lead. For Oscar Heyman & Brothers Inc. in New York City, a customer request for a single diamond pendant somehow, over the course of seven years, turned into a necklace with two front pieces, two rings, three detachable ornaments, seven jackets, a pendant, a bracelet, a brooch, and a pair of earrings, all of which were designed to be mixed and matched with a selection of seven large gemstones. This collection of platinum and 18k yellow gold jewels also managed to nab first place in the Custom Design Distinction category in the 2019 MJSA Vision Awards competition.
