Emanuela Duca’s designs travel through time

By Irina Hawkins

The jewelry of Emanuela Duca, the Hudson Valley, New York, designer, is back on the television screen. Duca’s foray into pop culture dates back to 2003, when the Samantha character on “Sex and the City” wore her Capelli [Hair] Earrings. Back then, Duca was a relatively new name in the industry. A recent immigrant from Italy, she was renting studio space in a Brooklyn jewelry shop that sold some of her designs. One day, Jessica Cohen of The Product Agent, which specializes in product placement, happened to see some of Duca’s pieces, and put her in touch with the show’s costume people.
