AJM Magazine Honored for Quality Technical Writing

Providence, RI–The American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) has presented AJM Magazine with both national and regional awards for “Big E, Little e,” an e-commerce case study written by staff writer John Shanahan. The article received bronze national honors in the Technical Articles category and gold honors for the same category in the Eastern region.

“Big E, Little e,” which appeared in the March 2001 issue of AJM, presented e-commerce case studies of one large company––findings manufacturer B.A. Ballou & Co.––and one smaller company––goldsmith Jim Binnion. The article was among the 2,200 entries competing in the ASBPE awards program, which honors the best print editorial, design, and Web site work among business-to-business publications.

AJM was also recognized for its technical writing at the Santa Fe Symposium on Jewelry Manufacturing Technology, where it received the Technology Award for “excellence in sharing quality technical information with the jewelry industry.” AJM Associate Publisher Rich Youmans accepted the plaque on behalf of AJM Editor Tina Wojtkielo and the AJM team at the symposium, which took place May 19-22 in Albuquerque, NM. This is the fourth consecutive year that AJM has received the award.

“Winning these awards is a testament to the skill and dedication of the AJM writing and editing team,” said Youmans. “It also confirms that the magazine is meeting its goal of consistently providing valuable technical and business information that is written clearly.”

AJM is the official publication of Manufacturing Jewelers & Suppliers of America (MJSA), and the only magazine solely devoted to serving jewelry manufacturers and designers. It offers the latest in techniques, technology, and trends, and provides the information manufacturers need to be competitive.
