MJSA Expo New York Moves to Jacob K. Javits Center
To improve the accessibility to and services for its flagship trade show, Manufacturing Jewelers & Suppliers of America (MJSA) will move Expo New York to the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, March 2-4, 2003. The move, recently announced by MJSA President/CEO James F. Marquart, will provide more space and growth potential for the Expo, North Americas largest jewelry trade show dedicated to manufacturers.
We had a tremendous show this year, with 4,500 buyers and exhibitors reporting better than average sales, said Paula Esposito, MJSA director of trade shows & special events. Moving Expo New York to the Javits will continue to enhance the profile and success of the show.
For the past 6 years, the show has been held at Show Piers on the Hudson. From 1997 to 1999, it was split between Piers 90 and 92, and moved to Pier 94, the UnConvention Center, in 2000. This latest move actually marks a return to the Javits Center for the show, which was held at the venue in 1995 and 1996.
According to Esposito, the new location will offer more amenities to the shows exhibitors, such as DSL lines, compressed air, and flexible drayage labor schedules.
The site also has easy access for buses and cabs, and allows for a compact floor plan that lends itself to efficient shopping, neither of which were available at the shows previous home. In addition, the Javits Center also has private rooms adjacent to the show floor which will be used for hosting Expo New Yorks technical and business seminars.
For more information on Expo New York 2003, including an application to exhibit, contact Tina Gosselin at 1-800-444-6572, ext. 3023. Online registration at www.mjsainc.com will begin on Oct. 1, 2002.
