MJSA Appoints New York Membership Representative, Opens
New York Office
Providence, RI-To strengthen its membership activities in New York City, Manufacturing
Jewelers & Suppliers of America (MJSA) recently hired a Membership Development
Representative, Yancy Weinrich, who will be based in the association's new Manhattan
office.
Located at 500 5th Ave., Suite 4120, the association's new satellite office,
will serve as a base forboth Weinrich, and AJM Magazine sales executive Marilyn
Leibman when they are working with members and advertisers in Manhattan. It
will also be used by MJSA staff from the headquarters in Providence, Rhode
Island, when they visit the city on business.
"It is beneficial for us, as a national trade organization, to have a satellite
office in New York, just as we do in Los Angeles," says MJSA president/CEO
James F. Marquart. "New York is a hub of industry activity and a major part
of our association's membership is located there. This office, along with the
hiring of Yancy Weinrich, will add tremendous value to MJSA, and will be a
tremendous catalyst between the association and the New York industry."
Weinrich's experience includes serving as the Membership Development Director
for the American Gem Society (AGS) in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she was directly
responsible for maintaining and growing the Society's membership.
In 2000, she founded and became president of the Las Vegas Chapter of the
Women's Jewelry Association (WJA), and earned a seat on the association's national
board of directors. She currently serves on the membership, scholarship, and
DIVA awards committees. Additionally, she was an active volunteer for three
years with the City of Hope, specifically the "Workout for Hope" in New York
City.
