The MJSA Education Foundation

Woman at benchA 501(c)(3) non-profit subsidiary of the association, the MJSA Education Foundation supports programs that help to ensure the industry maintains a qualified, competitive workforce.

Since 1997, the MJSA Education Foundation Scholarship Group, managed by the Rhode Island Community Foundation on behalf of MJSA, has generated nearly $165,000 to support U.S. students enrolled in jewelry design and jewelry making programs at colleges, universities, and technical schools.

The Foundation also sponsors annually the Future of the Industry student category in the MJSA Vision Awards, to promote the talents of the next generation of designers.

Safety Solutions CoverIn addition to its efforts in promoting student education and recognition, the Foundation sponsors educational programs and resources to enhance the skills of the existing workforce. These programs have included the MJSA Safety Compliance Outreach, which ultimately led to the Safety Solutions manual and DVD (published by MJSA Press) to promote healthy shop practices throughout the industry. Both the manual and DVD are available in the MJSA Bookstore.
